Energy and Exergy Analysis of a Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers Having Smooth and Corrugated Inner Tubes

Shell and tube heat exchangers are one of the most used exchanger types in applications it is important to predict transfer capacity pressure loss both design stage. Heat a can be enhanced by using tubes having surfaces instead smooth ones. In this study, usage corrugated shell investigated ε-NTU method, energy/exergy analysis. The impact on hot cold fluid outlet temperatures, efficiencies, entropy generation total exergy destruction researched for various operation conditions. results revealed that difference between temperatures decreased ones because mixing secondary flows obtained means corrugations.
